GreatCall Lively Mobile

Best for Health and Medical Information On-Demand

GreatCall was founded in 2006 to provide solutions for seniors who wish to age independently and remain in the home. The GreatCall Lively Mobile medical alert system is one of several GreatCall mobile devices designed for “active aging.” The company’s services include medication adherence assistance, activity monitoring, and telehealth. GreatCall maintains an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

Two of the service plans for the GreatCall Lively Mobile include a feature called Urgent Care. Urgent Care is an on-demand telehealth service. Users can call the Urgent Care number at any time, day or night, and speak with a doctor or registered nurse. The clinicians can answer any questions the caller has about their health, give medical advice, and submit refills for common prescriptions. The telehealth service is unique among medical alert companies, most of whom simply focus on emergency monitoring. By including Urgent Care with the GreatCall Lively Mobile device, GreatCall makes it even easier for seniors to live independently.

Who GreatCall Lively Mobile Is Best For

Caregivers

The Preferred and Ultimate service packages include access to GreatCall Link, a caregiver mobile app. In the app, caregivers and other loved ones of GreatCall Lively Mobile users can view the user’s location, see their daily activity, and check the device’s battery level. The app will also send a notification when the user calls the monitoring center for emergency assistance, making it easy for caregivers to stay in the know about their loved one’s health.

Seniors Who Enjoy Traveling

All GreatCall medical alert devices are mobile and portable. The devices use Verizon’s cellular network to connect with the emergency monitoring center, so they work anywhere in the United States with cellular service. This is ideal for seniors who enjoy traveling, as they can bring their medical alert device on vacation and know that they will be protected during an emergency.

Those Without Strong AT&T Signal in Their Area

Most mobile medical alert devices use AT&T’s cellular network. GreatCall Lively Mobile uses Verizon’s, which can be very helpful for those who want a mobile device but do not have a strong AT&T signal in their home or area. GreatCall Lively Mobile provides a great alternative in these situations when seniors otherwise would be unable to use a mobile medical alert device due to the lack of AT&T signal.

Those who choose longer payment periods will receive a prorated refund for any prepaid months at the time of cancellation. All new users are also eligible for a 30 day trial period, during which they can return their device for a full refund, minus a $10 restocking fee.

Each user chooses their preferred Health & Safety package, and the device is programmed accordingly.

Monitoring

GreatCall owns and operates its own emergency monitoring center, the 5Star Urgent Response Center. All 5Star agents hold IAED certification and are trained in emergency procedures. Operators will stay on the line with callers until help arrives to ensure their safety. In addition to providing emergency medical support, 5Star operators can help with non-emergency situations such as if a caller is lost and needs directions to their destination or are locked out of their home.
